U.S. Reps. August Pfluger (R-TX) and John Joyce (R-PA) on Monday joined a bipartisan contingent of lawmakers to introduce legislation that would amend current law to ensure appropriate payments are made for ambulance services under the Medicare program. The Reimbursing Emergency Services for Critical Urgent Encounters (RESCUE) Act of 2026, H.R. “We will keep working to close this gap and make sure rural America never loses access to the emergency care it depends on,” said Rep. Pfluger. Rep. Joyce agreed, noting the important value of the nation’s emergency responders. “This bill fixes that imbalance and helps ensure no community loses access to emergency care,” he added.
