Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics is honoring Shyla Drost, who was recently recognized with the DAISY Award for outstanding nursing for her role in creating a memorable experience for a patient’s hospital stay. Drost was nominated for the DAISY Award after organizing a surprise celebration for the Bean family, whose loved one was hospitalized on the couple’s 71st wedding anniversary. Drost, with help from colleagues, arranged a candlelight lunch in the hospital’s family room . Chief Nursing Officer Ann Lengeling praised Drost’s thoughtfulness, saying, “Every day, our team members find ways to make a difference for patients and their loved ones. Shyla’s thoughtfulness and dedication are a wonderful example of the meaningful connections our team builds with the people we serve.”
