Data center owner, operator and developer CyrusOne has promoted John Hatem to CEO. The Dallas-based company's outgoing CEO, Eric Schwartz, is stepping down and will work with Hatem to ensure a smooth transition, the company said in a press release. Hatem has been with KKR & Co. affiliate CyrusOne since 2011, most recently serving as president. The Army selected CyrusOne to build a data center on 1,200 acres at a Utah military base, and the company has announced new data centers in the San Antonio region. It also teamed up with battery energy storage systems company Eolian in Fort Worth to speed up the timeline to deploy a 200-megawatt data center near Fort Worth.
