Gordon Couling, 70, will travel to Scotland in September to take part in the World Stone Skimming Championships on Easdale Island, with the hopes to beat last year's result. If he finds water, Mr Couling does try to practise; however, he highlighted that the conditions in Hampshire aren’t always right. The slate stones that now cover the beaches are used for stone skimming.
