The dry land has left Anthony unable to plant his crops, who added he had "never ever been in this situation" before. "As soon as we've harvested the one crop, we plant in the next crop, but we can't do any of that now," he said. Anthony said he is concerned that once the rain comes it will not stop, leaving him unable to plant next year's crops. National Farmers Union Cymru president Abi Reader has warned that the cost of the continuing dry and hot weather will have a financial impact on farmers. "We've been in this a long time now, and it's going to take a long time to recover, and absolutely everybody needs to remember that food security starts with water security," she added.
