The latest vehicle to complete the Routemaster refurbishment programme - the LT706 - has emerged from a full refit, before returning to service from Transport UK London's Walworth GarageA fleet of iconic Routemaster buses is returning to London’s streets following a comprehensive mid-life refurbishment programme delivered by Ballymena-headquartered Wrightbus’s repair and refurbishment division. Wrightbus acquired Warwickshire-based RGI Bus & Coach Refurbishment Ltd in October 2024 to expand its repair, refurbishment and repowering capabilities. And since then the company - better known these days for producing market-leading zero-emission buses - has restored nine buses and got them back on the road. Ross Cleaver, sales director at Wrightbus, said: “Refurbishment is about much more than appearance. “By combining refurbishment, repair, and new vehicle supply, Wrightbus can provide a complete life cycle solution that helps operators maximise the value of their fleets.”
