Catherine (Lola Petticrew) is furious at what happened to her, and now it’s her time to exact revenge. We later learn that when an FBI agent investigated the trafficking connected to the club, it was shut down and her investigation ended. This is when we meet the second central character, FBI agent Alice Black (Emmy Rossum). Agent Black is relentless in seeking to track down the killer, despite repeated suggestions from a colleague that the victims probably deserved it. The viewer’s aspirations are with Agent Black, whose response to violence is to try and catch a killer.
