The PSNI has been spying on journalistsA member of the Policing Board has called for PSNI surveillance of journalists to be “fully investigated”.

However, there continues to be concerns about the extent of PSNI spying on journalists in the years not covered by the McCullough review - from the establishment of the force in 2001 to 2011.
Mr McGrath said it is “abundantly clear that the unlawful surveillance of journalists was a tactic deployed by the PSNI on multiple occasions”.
“The McCullough Review has helped to build confidence, but it looked at practices during a specific period within the PSNI.
