The District of Coldstream has received $5,550 to pay for a meeting with the Okanagan Indian Band.
Coldstream received the money through the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) Regional Community to Community (C2C) grant program to support an upcoming Community to Community meeting with the OKIB.
“The event will provide an opportunity for the district and OKIB to come together to strengthen relationships and continue building understanding and collaboration between the two communities,” said a press release from Coldstream.
The Sept. 28 event will be a a ceremony to commemorate the raising of the OKIB flag at Cenotaph Park, followed by a meal and a meeting.
