A Dixon Correctional Center employee pleaded not guilty Thursday to three felony charges that accuse her of providing cannabis and engaging in sexual acts with an inmate.
The charges were filed by the Illinois State Police on June 26 and stem from two separate incidents in September 2025, Lee County court records show.
Then, on Sept. 11 that year, prosecutors allege that Lewis, an employee of the Dixon prison, knowingly engaged in sexual conduct that involved “touching and fondling” with an inmate.
On Thursday, Lewis appeared before Lee County Circuit Judge Jacquelyn D. Ackert for her first appearance.
Fawkes said that they came to an agreement with prosecutors for pretrial release and Lee County State’s Attorney Charles Boonstra had no objection.
