Jammu, July 30: Traffic on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) will remain completely suspended on July 31 to facilitate road widening and restoration works, officials said on Wednesday. According to a traffic advisory issued by the Traffic Police Headquarters, the movement of all types of vehicles will remain prohibited between Jakheni (Udhampur) and the NAVYUG Tunnel (Banihal) throughout the day on July 31. Officials said that no vehicle will be allowed to move beyond Nagrota towards Srinagar, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, and Patnitop, or in the opposite direction. Additionally, traffic from Qazigund towards Ramban, Udhampur, and Jammu will be halted after 10:00 PM on July 30. Authorities have advised commuters to plan their travel in advance and avoid the highway during the closure period.
