Srinagar, July 30: Veteran politician and former National Conference (NC) leader Mohammad Syed Akhoon on Thursday joined the Apni Party along with a large number of his supporters and associates. “I, personally and on behalf of my party colleagues, wholeheartedly welcome Akhoon Sahib into the Apni Party. He said the Apni Party was not owned by any individual or family but belonged to the people and was open to all those committed to public service. Highlighting civic issues in Srinagar, the Apni Party chief said political parties were engaged in mutual criticism instead of addressing concerns related to unemployment, housing, infrastructure and drainage. Speaking on the occasion, Akhoon expressed satisfaction over joining Apni Party and said he was confident that the party would continue working for the welfare and development of the people.
