The 1934 song Joni Mitchell wanted to hear forever: “I would swoon”Joni Mitchell always had a vast music taste compared to most of her contemporaries.
She didn’t want to be the average songwriter strumming away on a guitar, and half of her songs stand out as being some of the most forward-looking tunes of her time.
Of course, she was a genius in many senses of the word, but there were still certain places that she wasn’t going to touch on.
And that came long before she had an acoustic guitar in her hands and discovered the wonders of open tunings.
And the way that the melodies moved in the piece had a lot to do with the way that Mitchell constructed many of her songs.
