The Boston Red Sox could potentially make a big splash on the trade market ahead of the 2026 deadline. ESPN's Jeff Passan reported Thursday that the Red Sox are among the teams "likeliest to make a decisive move" prior to the deadline. The Red Sox are in need of help at shortstop, as Trevor Story hasn't appeared in a game since May 14 after undergoing surgery to repair a sports hernia. He's recorded 19 home runs, 21 doubles and 49 RBI while posting a .757 OPS in 106 games this year. If the Red Sox focus on bringing in a catcher, Hicks is a possibility.
