Harrison County man accused of sexual assault arrested after manhunt

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Harrison County man accused of multiple sex crimes was arrested after a manhunt was conducted on Thursday.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office announced that Jason Ginier, 48, of Clarksburg, was taken into custody at around 1:55 p.m. on Thursday “without incident” less than three hours after the manhunt was initiated.
Ginier was the subject of the manhunt for active warrants related to first- and second-degree sexual assault, sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian and assault during the commission of a felony.
According to deputies, Ginier allegedly fled from a citizen on Wednesday night, where his vehicle was later located abandoned in a field near Stonepot Road in Lost Creek.
Multiple law enforcement agencies participated in the search.
