The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has increased its "officer strength" to conduct more proactive patrols in and around Armstrong and Whitesand First Nation, following numerous complaints of break-and-enters in both communities. "We have increased our police presence when it's safe to do so and we are going around checking the area," Wabason said. "If they aren't, then they are issued a provincial offences notice and escorted out of the area," Wabason said. "Give room for the MNR to fight the fires and do the fire suppression and asset protection," Wabason said.
