Reconstruction of the city hall parking lot has been met with challenges, but the city council agreed to work with Apex Engineering in hopes to ensure its success.
ADVERTISEMENTCity Engineer Jon Olson said the “great difference” between the current lot’s elevation and that of city hall has presented challenges, as the lot sits roughly 10 inches higher than the finished city hall floor.
“So there were two options at that time: consider an interior ramp or a parking lot regrade,” Olson said.
“It was decided, from my understanding, that the parking lot regrade was the most preferred option.”
MORE LOCAL NEWSThe council will not have a meeting Tuesday, Aug. 11, as city hall will host voters for election primaries.
