SIBLEY, Iowa – The application window for the 2026 Garden Academy training cohort is open through Aug. 14.
Iowans wishing to become Iowa Master Gardener volunteers choose a county to apply with, complete the 10-week online Garden Academy training, and attend in-person volunteer orientation organized by the county office.
After completing Garden Academy and the in-person orientation, trainees put their knowledge to work with a 40-hour internship in their designated training county.
