On July 27, influencer Paige Lorenze commented on Four Winds Craft Guild’s Instagram post of the sign. Instead, I found myself thinking: If I owned a business, I’d probably want the freedom to curate my own environment, too — I’d just be a lot more intentional with how I communicated that. To be clear, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being an influencer. I also don’t think every business owner has to participate in that ecosystem if they don’t want to. At the end of the day, I don’t think this conversation is really about a sign.
