The Batesville-Independence County Economic Development Corporation, Inc. has elected Matt Martin as chairman of its board of directors, replacing Landon Reeves, who recently resigned. Martin is a Batesville native who graduated from Batesville High School and Lyon College. The economic development corporation is a nonprofit created by the city of Batesville and Independence County in 1981 to promote economic development in the city and county.
