San Diego Humane Society announced Thursday that it began treating and vaccinating 25 Yorkies as well as 25 huskies. After their flea treatment is completed, the dogs will receive veterinary exams and be groomed, San Diego Humane Society said. Like many shelters across Southern California, San Diego Humane Society said its shelters are overwhelmed by a growing number of animals in its care. San Diego Humane Society currently has 1,950 animals in its care. San Diego Humane Society is open for walk-in adoptions Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside and San Diego.
