North Yorkshire Police said a man had been arrested in connection with the alleged incident, in which no one was injured, and the entrance to the mosque remains cordoned off. York Interfaith Group Chair Tina Funnell has thanked police for their efforts and called on people across the city to "condemn any violence aimed at a religion" and to offer support to the Mosque and its members.
