A Barrow County judge sentenced Colin Gray, the father of Apalachee High School shooter Colt Gray, to 15 years in prison Thursday for providing the assault-style rifle his son used to kill four people in 2024, just two days after the same judge sentenced the shooter himself to life without parole. "I don't get to sentence with passion," Primm said, adding later, "It is clear you failed as a parent. Colin Gray, wearing a striped prison uniform, was breathing heavily but did not visibly react to the sentence. Colin Gray testified in his own defense during the trial, saying he struggled every day with the question of whether he missed red flags. Primm told Gray directly that he wasn't being bullied at the school, didn't know anyone there, and committed the attack "for the infamy of it."
