LinkedIn quietly rolled out a new "Seems like AI slop" reporting button Thursday, letting users flag posts they suspect were written by artificial intelligence, as the Microsoft-owned professional network continues a monthslong effort to curb low-quality automated content. The button, first reported by 404 Media, sits under the three-dot menu at the top of any post. LinkedIn had previously implemented policies requiring disclosure labels on AI-generated content starting in 2024, but Thursday's rollout marks a shift from passive disclosure toward more active, user-driven content moderation. Jonny Rose, founder of the Story Club community, wrote in a LinkedIn post that he hoped the feature marks "the first step in making the platform more enjoyable for everyone." Whether the new reporting button meaningfully reduces the volume of AI-generated content in LinkedIn feeds, and how the company addresses concerns about potential misuse of the flagging system, will become clearer as the feature rolls out more broadly.
