A 34-year-old woman has been charged following an unprovoked assault in downtown Vancouver that left another woman hospitalized, according to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).
Police say the attack occurred around 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday near the intersection of Robson and Homer streets.
The suspect fled the area following the assault but was located and arrested approximately one block away, police said.
“The suspect and victim did not know each other, and the assault was unprovoked,” said Cst.
Prosecution Service announced charges against the accused, including one count of assault causing bodily harm, and one count of assault by choking.
