TPUSA concludes that Canada has become “nothing more than a stepping stone into America” and argues that security along the northern border has received far less scrutiny than the U.S.-Mexico border. According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), encounters involving Indian nationals along the U.S.-Canada border rose sharply during fiscal year 2023, with approximately 30,000 encounters recorded. Thousands more were reported during the following months as authorities documented growing use of Canada as a transit point by migrants seeking entry into the United States.
