Evenflo says most affected seats can continue to be used while awaiting repairs. Fortunately, the issue only affects a handful of headrest positions, meaning most owners can continue using their seats while Evenflo prepares a free repair. The company ultimately determined the affected seats do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213. Instead, families should avoid the affected headrest settings until a repair is available. That means using positions 1 through 9 in forward-facing mode and positions 1 through 10 in rear-facing mode.
