Liberty County Sheriff's Office via FacebookA Liberty County Jail correctional officer has been terminated following an internal investigation into the escape of an inmate from a Houston-area hospital earlier this month, according to the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. The Liberty County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division conducted the investigation into the escape and found the corrections officer committed no criminal wrongdoing, the sheriff’s office said. "The correctional officer was immediately placed on administrative suspension following the escape," a sheriff's office spokesperson said in the statement. "Upon completion of the administrative review, the employee's employment with the Liberty County Jail was terminated."
