Lead single “Sick of the Times,” is described as an art-rock protest anthem featuring Garbus and Los Angeles rock quartet the Linda Lindas. THAO says she envisioned the song as something that could extend beyond the stage and into community organizing. The accompanying video features Garbus and the Linda Lindas alongside THAO, while the album itself also includes appearances by Neko Case and Black Pumas’ Adrian Quesada. THAO will stage a brief fall tour that begins Nov. 3 at Los Angeles’ Lodge Room and includes stops in San Francisco, Kingston, N.Y., New York, Providence, R.I., and Brattleboro, Vt. In keeping with the activist spirit of “Sick of the Times,” $1 from every ticket sold for the Los Angeles and San Francisco shows will be donated to Working Families Power.
