Last held in 2012, the procession will see members of the Incorporation lead sheep across the historic bridge, reviving a long-standing right exercised by the organisation with the agreement of the Bideford Bridge Trust. "The sheep drive symbolises the historic importance of the wool trade to communities across the Westcountry, including Bideford and Exeter." In 1573, Bideford Bridge was rebuilt with assistance from the Incorporation to ensure members could continue using the crossing. The ceremonial sheep drive is due to begin at 10am, with spectators encouraged to arrive early to secure a viewing position.
