The Opportunity Party has announced its 40-candidate party list for the 2026 general election, led by six candidates with deep experience across business, public policy, agriculture, Māori development, and environmental leadership. “This is a team of people who have built businesses and organisations, shaped public policy, worked alongside communities and led practical responses to some of New Zealand’s biggest challenges” says party leader Qiulae Wong. “Opportunity brings together leaders who understand the economy we need to build, the communities we need to strengthen, and the natural environment we need to restore.” He founded a nationwide open farm day initiative and has researched how New Zealand could redesign its domestic food system. Opportunity was founded in 2017 to address systemic barriers to fairness in New Zealand through bold, evidence-based policy.
