On Wednesday night, Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman took Manhattan, looking like the movie stars they are. Saldaña was draped in a black V-neck gown; Kidman sported effortlessly chic bangs and a shimmering Art Deco–esque top. Lioness, which premiered its third season in New York Wednesday, follows a team including Saldaña’s Joe McNamara as they go undercover to approach the wives and daughters of government-targeted terrorists. The show was inspired by a real-life military program called Team Lioness, which added women soldiers to combat units, deploying them to Iraq in 2003—at a time when cultural norms prevented male soldiers from interacting directly with Muslim women.
