TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto has asked regional leaders not to mobilize residents to welcome him during official visits, saying people should not have to wait for hours in the heat along the roadside. Prabowo made the remarks while attending the mass handover of 62,000 subsidized housing financing packages in Batang, Central Java, on Thursday, July 30, according to the Presidential Secretariat. "Once again, I ask governors and regents, when I visit, there is no need to mobilize people to welcome me," he said. Prabowo said the government's priority should be delivering tangible results rather than organizing ceremonial welcomes. During the event, Prabowo also held a video conference with beneficiaries from several regions participating simultaneously in the program.
