A former employee at a Hudson Valley business allegedly kept helping himself to company funds long after his employment ended.
A 20-year-old Hyde Park man is now facing multiple felony charges after investigators say he fraudulently used a local landscaping company's fuel charge account for months, costing the business more than $1,300.
Employee Allegedly Stole Fuel From Old Boss in Dutchess County, NYAccording to the New York State Police, the investigation began in June after the owner of Lehan's Lawn and Landscaping reported suspicious activity on the company's fuel charge account.
Canva Gas PumpDuring the investigation, police said 20-year-old Austyn A. Moyer-Mayhar, of Hyde Park, a former employee of the company, allegedly continued using the business's fuel account after his employment had ended.
Investigators said that between April and June 2026, he allegedly forged the business owner's signature on multiple fuel receipts and fraudulently charged approximately $1,376 worth of fuel to the company's account.
