The last consignment of ballot papers for Zambia’s 2026 general elections arrived in Lusaka on Thursday ahead of the start of stakeholder verification on Friday. The first batch of ballot papers arrived on Wednesday. “Verification of the ballot papers with stakeholders will now commence on Friday,” ECZ chief electoral officer Brown Kasaro said. The ballot paper checks form part of Zambia’s standard transparency measures ahead of national polls. Zambia heads to the polls on 13 August to elect a president, members of parliament and local government leaders.
