Meet the Belleek man who has written 82 books to keep Fermanagh's history alive

For, this feisty force of nature has written an incredible 82 books on various shades of history, mostly related to Fermanagh and a few hundred pamphlets as well as editing the iconic Fermanagh Miscellany for around 20 years.
The Ederney native came there first as Principal of Belleek Primary School in 1969 until he “retired” in 1996.
He is perhaps best known for his meticulous history of the Caldwell family in his major work, ‘A History of Castlecaldwell and its Families.’
Johnny has a close connection with Pettigo and has written five books about that village and played football for them.
And he got an MA in Local History from Durham University which sharpened his focus and desire to make sure the past has a fertile future in the 1980s.
