Firefighters from Nailsea and Chew Magna were sent to the Isle on Friday, July 24, using specialist High Volume Pump (HVP) skills to help maintain water supplies in difficult conditions.
Nailsea Firefighters said: "Using their specialist High Volume Pump (HVP) skills, they are helping to keep this vital resource operating around the clock, ensuring a continuous water supply to support firefighting operations in challenging conditions.
"We’re incredibly proud of our firefighters who are assisting alongside colleagues from across the country.
The fire burnt around 9 hectares of coastal woodland, and the North Somerset crew used their specialist pump to extract nearby seawater to and pump it to the site.
Avon Fire & Rescue Service have recently warned about increased risk of fire due to the prolonged hot, dry weather.
