As part of that acquisition, Devavrat Shah, a chaired professor at MIT and founder of Ikigai, joined Celonis as the company’s Chief Scientist, Enterprise AI. Where much of the industry frames agentic AI around automating tasks, Shah is for buyers to think about roles instead. He said:LGMs are fundamentally built in a compute-efficient manner, and they're purpose-built for structured enterprise data. Instead, Celonis are providing a pragmatic approach to enterprise AI adoption that provides a realistic context engine, where certain tools are chosen for certain scenarios. And finally, in enterprise AI right now, reaching for the right tool for the job - and being upfront about what it can and can't do - is actually quite a radical position to take amongst a market full of hype.
