Justice, News July 30th, 2026The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has upgraded charges against a St. John’s man following a pedestrian collision that claimed the life of a six-year-old boy. Police say the collision happened on July 23 at the intersection of Thorburn Road and Larkhall Street. The accused, Tyler Day of St. John’s, was initially charged in connection with the incident. Following the child’s death, those charges have now been upgraded to include impaired driving causing death, failure to remain at the scene of an accident causing death, operating over the legal limit causing death, dangerous operation causing death, and criminal negligence causing death. The six-year-old boy will be laid to rest today at the Muslim cemetery in St. John’s.
