"We have been in attendance since 1pm and we are expecting to remain on scene into the night," said a Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesman. Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service revealed there were five wildfires in the county on Wednesday, with more than 100 firefighters battling blazes near Aylsham, Knapton, Middleton, Buxton and Gunton. The county is suffering from “flash drought” as a result of very low rainfall and high temperatures, the Environment Agency has said.
