The charity's inpatient unit on Nelson Street provides free end-of-life care and can accommodate up to eight people. The hospice also supports a significant number of patients within the community. The hospice will continue to deliver services in the community and at the Access Centre in Nelson Street as normal, as well as liaising with neighbouring hospices for those who require inpatient care. Graham Gardiner, CEO of Ardgowan Hospice, said: “Despite the difficulties surrounding recruitment, we are hopeful for the future as we work closely with HSCP. “We are grateful for the opportunity to invest in our ward building and look forward to welcoming patients and their families back to our improved inpatient unit as soon as possible.
