Families of at least 176 people abducted by terrorists in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State have made a desperate appeal to the Federal Government and the Kwara State Government to rescue their loved ones, who have now spent nearly six months in captivity. The emotional plea comes amid disturbing reports that the abductors have threatened to force the “beautiful” female captives into marriage and kill the remaining hostages if their demands are not met. However, he said the terrorists allegedly rejected the ransom, leaving the captives stranded in their camps. Also lending their voices to the appeal, the Dan Sardaukin Kaiama and Suleiman Bukata urged the Federal Government and security agencies to replicate the recent rescue operation that secured the freedom of abductees in Oyo State. Bukata said the successful operation in Oyo had given families in Kaiama renewed hope, stressing that residents of the community deserve the same level of urgency and commitment from the authorities.
