UNI Americas is encouraging trade unions across the region to sign up to new campaign from Brazilian affiliate, the Film and Audiovisual Industry Workers’ Union (SINDCINE), designed to improve safety and prevent accidents in the audiovisual industry. This campaign is a call for the entire industry to place workers’ lives and dignity at its core. We fully support this SINDCINE initiative because occupational health and safety are fundamental rights and a shared responsibility across the entire industry.” The campaign reaffirms a fundamental principle of the trade union movement: no job should cost a life. Ensuring safe workplaces, preventing occupational hazards and fostering a culture of protection and care are essential to building a safer audiovisual industry.
