Rev Canon Simon Chesters was found dead at Westminster Park, Hough Lane on Monday, July 20. An inquest into the death of the 59-year-old man was opened at Cheshire Coroner’s Court in Warrington on Wednesday. Coroner’s officer PC Chris Birchall requested that an inquest be opened due to the cause of death being unnatural. He also asked for the inquest to be adjourned for further work to be completed ahead of an internal case review on July 29. “Therefore, I formally open the inquest into the death of Simon Chesters and adjourn for further work to be completed for an inquest on November 30.”
