The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has imposed financial penalties ranging from `1 lakh to `10 lakh on several junior colleges for violating regulatory norms and warned that strict action, including withholding affiliations, will continue against institutions flouting rules.
In a release, the board said it has been identifying erring college managements to curb unauthorised admissions and illegal operations.
It said task force teams had carried out multiple inspections, leading to the imposition of hefty fines on non-compliant colleges.
The inspections will continue to ensure junior college managements adhere to prescribed norms.
The TGBIE said it had launched extensive awareness campaigns, repeatedly advising students and parents to verify the affiliation status of colleges through official channels before seeking admission to avoid falling victim to unauthorised institutions.
