Ongole: Prakasam district police have arrested four persons, including a resident of Nellore, for their alleged involvement in a daytime house burglary at Maddipadu and recovered 157.5 gram of gold ornaments worth Rs 18 lakh, Rs 51,000 in cash, and the Innova car used in the crime. According to police, the accused, allegedly addicted to alcohol and other vices, targeted a locked house at Paipalem in Maddipadu village on July 23 after noticing that the occupants had gone to Ongole. They allegedly broke open the door and stole gold ornaments from a cupboard. The police recovered the stolen gold ornaments, cash, and the vehicle used in the offence. SP V. Harshavardhan Raju commended the investigating team for swiftly solving the case and recovering the stolen property.
