San Francisco is ramping up police patrols in the Mid-Market corridor following three shootings in a matter of days, leaders said Wednesday. The police department will increase its presence in the neighborhood through Monday, Aug. 3, as part of a high-visibility enforcement plan, San Francisco police Chief Derrick Lew said in a social media video posted by Supervisor Bilal Mahmood. The three shootings, which do not appear to be connected, happened within a two-block stretch of Market Street, officials said. Police have made arrests in at least one of the shootings. We’ve been working around the clock with our investigators and our officers, looking for suspects, further evidence, and things that we need to process for those investigations."
