A physician with nearly thirty years of service at the Morón Hospital in Ciego de Ávila took to Facebook to deliver a scathing critique of the Cuban regime, highlighting the inability of the hardworking populace to sustain themselves through their labor.
Dr. Juan Carlos Villares directed his message to the National Assembly of People's Power, whose seventh regular session of the X Legislature convened this Wednesday and Thursday at Havana's Palace of Conventions.
The doctor called for institutional consistency, stating: "We must demand accountability for every law passed and hold violators responsible.
A user named Clarisa Santiesteban praised him as "wise and brave" and offered "applause for this doctor."
Villares's case is not isolated: days earlier, another Cuban doctor publicly criticized the conditions of medical missions amid a growing exodus of healthcare professionals and the deteriorating healthcare system.
