The U.S. Department of State revealed on Thursday its plans to release an additional 250,000 copies of the special edition "Patriot Passport," a commemorative document created for the 250th anniversary of American independence.
This move comes in response to what the Department of State described as an "overwhelming demand" following the release of the passport.
Subsequently, the Department of State plans to extend the document's availability to all 27 passport agencies across the country throughout August.
The "Patriot Passport" is part of a series of initiatives by the Trump administration to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence and bolster national identity.
Those interested in applying for the passport can check the official Department of State website for dates and locations: travel.state.gov/passport250.
