Published 7:33 pm Thursday, July 30, 2026Col. Richard Wayne Kimbler, M.D., 79, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026. Born January 26, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky, to George Bryan and Alice Fegenbush Kimbler, Dr. Kimbler was a graduate of Hanover College and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Kimbler completed nearly six years of residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Kimbler also loved to travel, especially spending much of his time in the state of Maine. Dr. Kimbler was preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Kimbler; his second wife, Leah Kimbler; and his son, Bryan Kimbler.
